Useful before clever.

Utilumi is a small collection of practical browser-based tools for repetitive PDF, spreadsheet and file tasks.

The project follows three principles: solve one clear job per page, avoid unnecessary sign-up friction, and process files locally in the browser whenever the task can be completed safely there.

Why browser processing?

Many simple file operations do not require a remote server. Keeping processing in the browser can reduce transfer time and means the source file does not need to be sent to our processing infrastructure. It is not a substitute for an organization's approved security, compliance or records-management workflow.

How tools are selected

New tools are added when they solve a recurring work problem. We prefer a smaller number of dependable utilities over a large directory of thin or duplicate pages.

Accuracy

Every output should be reviewed before it is used for an important decision or business process. Complex PDFs and Excel workbooks can contain features that a lightweight browser library does not preserve perfectly.
